Jamestown Neighborhood Park – Phase I

Dekalb County Parks and Recreation awarded Georgia Development Partners the contract to construct Phase I of the Jamestown Neighborhood Park. GDP constructed 350 feet of sidewalk, 200 feet of pervious walking paths, a picnic pavilion, a parking lot, and mulched large and small dog play areas. Site furnishings included multiple pet and human water fountains, benches, tables, and grills. The park lies within and adjacent to the flood plain, and the park required the placement of large volumes of engineered soils, the installation of lengthy drainage swales, and the development of a wetland retention pond. During the demolition phase, GDP uncovered an undocumented 24" stormdrain that was active, and the firm worked closely with public works to design-build an additional drainage swale along the periphery of the park to accommodate this structure. Despite the four week setback, GDP delivered the project on-time and within the original budget.
