Duncan Park Sports And Recreation Complex
The City of Fairburn selected GDP to convert their old baseball fields at Duncan Park into a multi-recreational facility. Over 19 acres of land were cleared, and over 30,000 cubic yards of cut/fill were handled to complete the grading. GDP installed new water, sewer, electrical, and storm sewer to support a new press box, restrooms, concession stands, and a 5 acre parking lot. An 1,800 sf RediRock retaining wall was erected, and a 1/2 acre playground was built with two separate areas for tots and older children. The focal point of the park is a new 87,000 sf multi-purpose Bermuda turf field. The grassed area is serviced by a Rain Bird irrigation system as well as a new drainage system. Concrete sidewalks were added to connect all of the elements, and final landscaping completed the project. The project stayed on schedule despite one of the wettest summers on record.
